LINDA RAE

Linda Rae is a local artist whose residency project explores the lived realities of chronic and persistent pain through a deeply community-engaged approach. Using the Goldfields Arts Centre as an open, welcoming and accessible space Linda will invite members of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community, including residents, support organisations and visitors to share their stories and take part in an ongoing creative dialogue.
Focusing on often invisible and misunderstood conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and other autoimmune diseases Linda will create a series of intimate artworks, including portraits and body paintings developed through in-studio sittings. Through this process, the project aims to raise awareness, foster empathy and highlight the strength and resilience of those living with chronic pain.
Through this residency Linda Rae contributes to a broader conversation at the intersection of art, health and community. By collaborating with local organisations and aligning with key awareness dates, the project expands beyond the gallery space—encouraging inclusion, understanding and meaningful connection across the Goldfields community.
